And the winner is....

Ok for all you crazies who have been just dying to know the weight of our luggage it is...

*drumroll*

The luggage featured in the post below, weighed in at a whopping 75 pounds!!! It has since been split into two bags. I thought it would be harder to fit 50 lb's of stuff into the suitcase, not so much, the suitcases are half empty but I do have another 10lbs to fill in each.

I have butterflies in my stomach!

We are going to Haiti, the plane tickets are purchased, the hotels are reserved. We are really going!!! We will be in Haiti June 16th-20th. On the way back we are going to relax on South Beach in Miami for a few days to unwind. I can hardly wait, everytime I think about it I want to double check my plane tickets. Since I love lists here's one for you:

Things I can't wait to do in Haiti

  • -Meet our baby
  • -Kiss his sweet cheeks
  • -Change his diaper
  • -Feed him
  • -Hug him
  • -Love him
  • -Take pictures with him
  • -See him walk
  • -Dress him like a baby doll (or sack of flour, I've heard some kids do that)
  • -Tell him we'll love him forever
  • -Show him his room on video
  • -Hear his sweet little voice (I think he will sound like a Harley)
  • -Cuddle him if he cries

Let's Play a Game!

The rumors are true we are going to Haiti in June! We don't have for sure dates yet, but we are getting our plans in place!

So let's play a little game called what's in our luggage? I packed one suitcase and it's funny to see how much stuff is in it! Thanks to everyone who has helped with our donations so far! So look at the photo below, you can click on it to make it bigger.

Can you tell how many cases of Costco baby wipes are in there?
Can you find all three bags of cotton balls?

On a serious note, if you would like to help out the babies of Crèche Enfant de l'Jèsus please consider donating a can of formula! Click on the photo below for a little story about Chances for Children and our sweet Kobe ~ there is a list on the side of the types of formula the Crèche uses.

If you are a doctor and have access to "good" medicines please email me to get a list of the "good" stuff they need at the Crèche.

I also have a list of other items they could use such as ink cartridges for the exact printers which are used for printing our important adoption documents, soap, lysol...etc, again please email me for that list - click on the photo to enlarge it and you are sure to find my email address there.

Thank you all for helping!!!

There is good news

I want to sandwich the horrible news in the post below with some good news. We received our March update yesterday! You know how your mom always tells you she hopes you have a child just like you? Well I was pretty sure I was in the clear since we are adopting. Well here's the update:

"Everybody calls him "big chief"! He is stubborn, and wants to do whatever he desires."

Well now isn't that comforting. Now if anyone (mom) has any parenting advice on how to deal with "the stubborn child" please let me know (mom).

He is able to wave and say "Bye, Bye" he also tries to repeat words he hears from other kids. He enjoys clapping his hands and dancing.

I think it is safe to say Kobe's personality is "blooming" and he is feeling comfortable at his home right now. I hope when he comes to his forever home he will be comfortable enough to be the "big chief" in our house as well.

Haiti Current Events

There is major rioting going on in Haiti right now. This is what we have heard from Chances for Children:

"Over the last week there has been rioting and protests over the rising prices of food and the number of people starving - with little assistance from world relief organizations. The riots started in Cayes and have now moved into PAP. All government offices are closed and there have been 5 people killed. All our staff and all the children at the Creche are safe and removed from the situation. "

There is also another family in Haiti right now picking up their son to bring him home. Please keep them in your thoughts I hope they were able to make their appointment today and are able to get back to Florida WITH their son ASAP.

We have the cutest baby EVER!!!

Ok so it's possible I might be a little bit biased.
