Eating Dirt To Survive In Haiti

Here's an article about the rising food prices and what they mean for the people of Haiti. I have seen before that they eat yellow dirt just to fill up. Can you imagine having your children crying because they are hungry and all you can provide for them is dirt cookies? It breaks my heart that some families love their children so much and yet they are able to do so little. This kind of gives a small idea of how children in Haiti become orphans or are allowed to be adopted. If they could be sustained on love alone from their birthparents the situation would be a lot different.

Thats so sad. The tiny starving baby makes tears come to my eyes. We are so blessed to live in this country. I wish that the 'rich' would do more for people like those in Haiti; instead of having a million dollar house, and 50 cars. Everything they could want, but will never hardly use in their lifetime. It makes me so sick!
